Elementary Visual Arts
In the Elementary Art Department at Concord Academy, the students are encouraged to create wonderful works of art while learning to express their own individuality.
In preparation for the Middle School/High School Art Programs, the elementary art students will be exposed to many different medias.
It is our desire that through the art program students will not only see the unique details that God has used throughout His creation, but that they will come to understand and appreciate their own uniqueness.
Elementary Music
Elementary Music offers K4-4th Grade students a wide variety of opportunities to experience music in all of its wonderful forms. Students will enjoy a hands on and engaging approach to music representing diverse cultures, different styles, and unique time periods of music history.
K4-2nd Grade students focus on developing an appreciation of musical instruments, basic singing music theory concepts, and team-building as an ensemble while singing and playing un-pitched instruments, bells, boomwhackers, and more.
3rd-4th Grade students begin more intentional units of sight reading, recorders, mallet instruments, and more to cultivate a higher level understanding of music and and all of its facets.
The goal of the elementary music program is to give each student an opportunity to see why music and musical concepts are not only intertwined with every facet of the modern world, but also connect directly to their faith and relationship with our Creator, Jesus Christ.
