The Bands of Concord Academy
The Bands of Concord Academy are an integral part of our Fine Arts program and are taught through scheduled classes during the regular school day. Students are introduced to instrumental music in fifth and sixth grade through Beginning Band, with opportunities to continue their musical growth in Intermediate Band during seventh and eighth grade and ultimately in our High School Band program.
In addition to our concert band program, students may begin participating in Marching Band as early as seventh grade, providing valuable performance experience and opportunities to develop leadership, teamwork, and musicianship alongside high school students.
At Concord Academy, we believe that a comprehensive music education extends far beyond learning to play an instrument. Students are exposed to a wide variety of musical concepts, including music literacy, performance techniques, music history, theory, ensemble skills, and artistic expression, helping them develop both as musicians and well-rounded individuals
A message from Band Directors, Dr. Corey Gaston & Laura Gaston:
Welcome to The Bands of Concord Academy! We here at the Academy believe that having a comprehensive music education involves MUCH more than simply learning how to play an instrument! We are passionate about our students and about the arts, and dedicating in cultivating your student's musical abilities that will leave them with life-long skills and memories! We are excited for this school year, and we believe this year is going to be our best year yet!
